Optitune TPD family of anti-fingerprint hard coatings for touch panel substrates

With the increasing adoption of touch panel functionality on mobile devices, the need for a functional coating to eliminate the smudge effect from fingerprints has been addressed. Implementing its patented technology for nano-manipulation Optitune has developed an abrasion resistant anti-glare coating, with exceptional chemical, salt and acid resistance. The repellent surface enables enhanced output from the device with its optimal refractive index coating on the cover glass, with the added benefit of eliminating the cosmetic distraction of fingerprints and grease contamination from skin contact.

As an additional benefit, the TPD family is applied using standard coating and bake equipment, already installed at touch panel facilities resulting in a minimal footprint to implement the technology.

The TPD coating is highly durable to extreme ambient temperatures and humidity and withstands intense UV exposure without any degradation of performance.
