Optitune ARX
Optitune ARX family of anti-reflective coatings for glass substrates
With the introduction of its low refractive index Siloxane materials, Optitune supplies anti-reflective technology to the glass module and thin film cell industries. The glass is coated utilizing inexpensive atmospheric roller, spray, dip or slot coating techniques, resulting in extremely hard (>5H pencil hardness) durable coatings, without the need for PECVD or sputtering processing. Modules coated with ARX family materials comply with IEC1215 and EN1096 international lifetime standards.
With a single low refractive index [1.27 to 1.32] layer, the efficiency of the module can be improved with peak transmission increasing from ~90 to 99% for double sided coating.
Unlike SiO2 sol-gel coatings that comprise of dispersed nano-particles, Optitune’s patented nano-manipulated Siloxane materials result in a gauged matrix, where the pore distribution and size are controlled at the molecular level resulting in no internal dispersion that is often experienced with sol-gel technology. Additionally, the transmission remains extremely high across a broad range of wavelength, whereas other anti-reflective coatings optimized by thin film interference lose transmission rapidly away from the optimal wavelengths.
